I first want to wish you all, “Happy New Year”. I hope you all had a great Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza or whatever holiday season it is you and your family celebrated. At press time, our family is preparing for Christmas and it is a bit hectic. I’ve finally turned off the news and quit listening to all the negativity that is being spouted by all the so-called professionals. Sure, things are tough, with most of it brought on by corruption created within the government, but we prevail.
The silver lining is the lower fuel prices which I wrote about months ago. Then, I said that I expected to see prices in the $25-$35 range, right where they are now. I think that will help stimulate the economy as much as anything. Of course, as the prices were falling OPEC cut production in an effort to bring them right back up. Did I mention corruption?... and how about possible collusion between them and the oil companies to keep us in their pockets? I’m no “conspiracy theory” whacko, just too many factors always seem to fall in place.
Thank God as bikers, we typically have a level-headed group of people to hang out with. For the most part, we are upbeat, positive, and fun loving people. We can now fill up our bikes again for $10 and spend hours cruising and not listening to the BS around us. Let’s keep this optimism, hope and faith as we move into 2009.
The year starts in Metro Atlanta with two really fun and inexpensive ways to entertain you and your family. The World of Wheels show brings hot cars and hot bikes together in one event. Then the Great American Motorcycle Show offers anything and everything motorcycle related.
Full Throttle will be at both shows and is greatly involved with the Great American Motorcycle Show. For starters, on Friday night we are hosting the Miss Full Throttle contest with some of the hottest ladies in the South competing for $1000 cash. A new weekend pass will allow you to come on Friday and then back during the weekend. Also, a special Full Throttle Friday promotion will get you in for just $8 (Friday night only) with the GAMS ad or your Full Throttle VIP card.
On Saturday and Sunday there is the Best Dressed Biker Kid competition. It’s loads of fun and gives the up-and-coming riders a chance to get involved in the show. It’s at 3:30 on both days.
That’s just what we are doing locally; check the Cruisin Calendar for all the activities across the Southland’s. Oh yeah, Nashville… Stayed tuned for a FT party event announcement that is coming soon.
As always, support the advertisers and let them know you saw them in “your” magazine, Full Throttle.
