Sol Junky – Is There Any Love?

With their fusion of high energy upbeat sing-a-long originals, hillbilly country, indie rock, and soulful blues, Sol Junky, is fast earning their place as another one of Atlanta's best live bands.  Regulars at jam-friendly venues and festivals, and supporting a loyal fan base that follows them religiously, this group of exceptionally talented musicians will blindside you with their tasteful mix of heavy guitar riffs, compelling male and female vocals, perfectly layered melodies, and a blended sound so thick and different it's hard to label a style. It's even harder not to become an instant follower.  This band is infectious!  They will pack the house and leave you demanding their return!

In addition to live performances, Sol Junky boast of an incredible CD that contains some of the best originals I've heard in a long time.  Produced by music mogul, Don McCollister, the single “Sideways” is already being played on several local Atlanta stations.  However, my personal favorites include the funny and politically motivated single “Doggone Government”, the super-hero fantasy love song of “Super”, a story of self evaluation in “Just My Luck”, and “Alive”, a soulful and heartfelt testimonial of love, rediscovered feelings and personal awaking.
Sol Junky band members are: Clint Ivie – Lead Vocals and Guitar, Abby Morris – Supporting vocals, Benjie Brown – Bass, Blake Wright – Lead Guitar and Supporting Vocals, Matt Floyd – Drums

In closing, I would like to give a shout out to my long time friend Francis Cavender, whom I just found out has been a longtime faithful reader of my column.   I would also like to say thanks to the rest of you who continue to read and support my monthly reviews by sending me your numerous comments, e-mails, and press kits.  I agree with you, there is simply too much talent that needs to be discovered and recognized.  Together, you and I will continue to help as many as we can.  How exciting!
Well, that's all for this month.  Keep those referrals coming and remember if it’s your band and you want a review, send an e-mail to SWAG1432@yahoo.com or call our Full Throttle main office at 770-943-4175.

Now, let’s get this party started!
