FUTURE LADY OF THE MONTH

Hi, my name is Emily Jane Odom and I am five years old. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on Valentine’s Day of 2007.

Though I have to get four shots a day and watch what I eat, I don’t let my disease slow me down one bit.

I love to tap dance, travel to Europe with my parents, and help out with my baby brother Charlie. I also love to “play school” and teach my imaginary students. They don’t always listen to me and so I have to put them in time out.

Sometimes my diabetes makes me a little cranky or tired, but my Mom and Dad help me monitor my blood sugar. I know how to do that too.

I hope you can go to the motorcycle ride this year to raise money for Diabetes!
