FUTURE MAN OF THE MONTH

My name is Sammy Kirkland and my little brother’s name is David Kirkland.  I am ten years old and my little brother is seven years old.  I am in the 5th grade and my little brother David is in the 2nd grade.  We both got to Sugar Hill Christian Academy in Buford, Georgia.

My granddad, David Robinson, has been involved in motorcycle riding for a long, long time.  Two years ago he won a Harley-Davidson 5 H.P. motorcycle from Stone Mountain Harley-Davidson in a fund raising raffle.  He gave it to me and my brother for Christmas.  We love it and ride it every chance we get.  We are both named after our granddad.  My name is Samuel David Kirkland and my brother’s name is David Benjamin Kirkland.

My granddad has Diabetes.  He has to take medicine everyday and gives himself shots all the time.  He sticks his finger to measure how much sugar he has in his blood before he eats.  I hope I do not grow up with diabetes because I don’t like to see my own blood.

When I grow up I want to be an Army Ranger and my brother David wants to be a motorcycle riding hunter.

I ride with my granddad whenever we can.  I hope we see you at the Diabetes motorcycle ride this year.  It will be close to my house in Gwinnett County. They are having a motorcycle raffle after the ride.  If you know my granddad, you can buy a ticket from him.
